Pope Room and Auditorium
Today is Jewelry Day! Let’s make it a fun day! Browse our recycled jewelry bargains before and after the luncheon.
During the luncheon, wear an interesting piece of jewelry that has a story or make up a story to add to the fun. What’s real and what’s fake in jewelry and in storytelling?
Melissa Lessick, a G.I.A. graduate gemologist from IMG Jewelers, will demonstrate the art of designing and redesigning jewelry using the wax modeling method. She will also have blank mountings available to show how jewelry can be updated by changing mountings.
After Melissa’s presentation, several of our members will display and tell stories about their unique jewelry. Are their experiences true or are they fiction? We will take a poll after each presentation.
Have you received or inherited some gold jewelry and aren’t sure it’s real? After the program, Melissa will help you determine by checking for Hallmark stamps.
